TIGER TALES WEEK - Padded Board Books

   

Tiger Tales has a large offering of padded board books this spring and the two pictured here are my favorites!

Each one includes a large flap (covers 2/3 of the page!) to lift with a full picture underneath the flap. The text rhymes. The focus of the first book is counting while the second book focuses on colors. The counting book includes a bonus counting activity at the end. The illustrations are really sweet and the format is clever. These were two of my very favorite books from the whole spring collection from Tiger Tales.

I Love You to the Moon - Mom and baby book. Good for Mother's Day or a birthday. 3 stars
Me and My Mom! - Sweet mom and baby story of spending the day together and how baby wants to be just like Mom. Good for Mother's Day. 3 stars
Me and My Dad! - same principle but the dad version. Good for Father's Day. 3 stars

Thanks once again to the awesome folks at Tiger Tales Publishers for sharing the fall releases with me. I have been so impressed with this company from the beginning. 

Abigail - Abigail the giraffe loves to count, but Zebra eats the leaves she's counting and Cheetah runs too fast to count his spots. When she finally finds something to count, she discovers her friends are not good counters, so she teaches them how. The illustrations are what make this book shine. The pictures are fantastic! The pacing is nice and slow and the counting piece is not too intense. This is probably my favorite book in the entire fall release catalog from Tiger Tales.

The Coziest Place - A bear family celebrates cozy moments during winter - warm soup, cocoa, warm pjs, stories, snuggling. This was lovely. Perfect reading for a snow day!

I Don't Want to Go to Bed - Little Tiger doesn't want to go to bed and he hassles his momma so much that she finally gives in and tells him he can stay up all night. Little Tiger goes to visit all his friends, and their moms and dads ask why Little Tiger isn't getting ready for bed. Finally when Little Tiger finds himself all alone in the dark jungle, he finds another critter up late at night who leads Little Tiger back to his mother. A very sweet bedtime book. 

No! - Little Otto loves his new word, "No!" But he soon learns that his no means he misses out on a lot of important things when he always says no. This would be a good book for parents who have kids who have discovered the joy of "no."

100 First Animals - Yes, this is a board book, but it is picture book-sized. Each page has 7 flaps. The animal focus with the bright colors and beautiful pictures makes this an awesome book. This would make a great gift book!

TIGER TALES - Board Books

     

It's spring and that means it is time for some new releases from the publisher, Tiger Tales. The company has so many great releases coming out this spring that they decided to send them out in batches. This time I have 6 new board books and a puzzle+book set to review. (I could only find pictures for two of the books, but all of them have these same beautiful colors.)

My First Touch and Feel Farm - Five pages of animal pictures with a touch and feel portion as well as words that show what the animal "says."

My First Touch and Feel Pets - Five more pages of animal pictures with a touch as feel portion (my favorite was the lizard - very cool) as well as words that show what the animal "says."

My First Lift and Learn - First Colors - Ten pages with large flaps. The page asks what color the picture is. Inside the flap are pictures of other items that are that color. The words for those items are shown on the back of the flap.

My First Lift and Learn - First Numbers - Ten pages with large flaps. Readers can trace the number with a finger while counting the objects on each page.

My First Book of Things to Learn - Large board book with 6 tabs. Each page focuses on a different skill - colors, animal sounds, shapes, baby animals, numbers and matching.

My First Book of Things to See - Large board book with 6 tabs. Each page focuses on a different setting and pictures (and words) of things that go in that setting - like starfish at the beach.

My First Puzzle Set - Paperback alphabet book in the same graphic style as these other books. Comes with 30-piece alphabet puzzle. Both come in a beautiful box that looks like the books in this series. The box closes with two small pieces of velcro. 

These are lovely books. Very colorful and visually appealing. If I were to walk by these in the book store, they would definitely catch my eye!

Now, I don't have any readers in my house - or at school - who are young enough to enjoy these, but I do know some folks who do have younger book lovers at their homes. So, I'm going to do a giveaway of these. No one has looked at these books but me - they are in pristine condition. I haven't even opened the puzzle - all the pieces are still in the bag.
