MONDAY: The Fourth Stall by Chris Rylander

Summary
Mac is a guy who can get things. Do you need protection? Help with a class? Visit Mac and his business partner, Vince, at their office in the fourth stall in the East Wing boy's bathroom. Business is good - for now. But a high school crime boss is starting to move in on Mac's territory and causing trouble in Mac's organization. Mac, Vince and their crew will need to watch their backs and know who their true friends are if they are going to survive.

Review
Fun story with an unusual premise. The cover alone grabbed the attention of my students when I displayed this book at school [I try to post a kids book that I am reading to spark conversation with my students]. Mac is a creative kid but he starts to wonder who he can trust when Staples seems to always know Mac's next move. A second book is due out February 7, 2011.

Recommended for: fans of school stories, "mob"-type stories, older tweens and teens

Cautions: These are middle school "wise-guys" - no guns involved but there are some series beatings.
