I am a lover of books; I can't get enough of them. Come check out my recommendations for readers of all ages! I hope you find some new reading treasures for you and your family here. Three star books are good, four star books are great, five star books are outstanding. In general, if I didn't like it, I don't even blog about it. Recommendations are based on my personal opinions, and cautions are listed for the sake of sensitive and/or younger readers.

TUESDAY: Pete the Cat: Rocking in My School Shoes by Eric Litwin
Summary
Pete the Cat is crazy about shoes. In this story, Pete sings about all the places his school shoes take him - the library, the lunch room, the playground, etc.. Wherever Pete goes, it's "all good."
Review
I read Pete the Cat to my elementary students during their first week in the library and they can't wait to be able to check his books out themselves. They sang along with Pete's song and enjoyed finding Pete's yellow bird friend on every page. Pete is a lot of fun to read out loud.
4 out of 5 stars
Recommended for: classroom reading, library reading, home libraries. My pre-K students enjoyed Pete, as did my older elementary students.
Cautions: none
Special note: You can order a stuffed Pete the Cat at this website along with some other fun stuffed critters from fun books.

MONDAY: Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes by Eric Litwin
Summary
Pete the Cat is crazy about shoes. In this story, Pete is so excited about his white shoes, he can't help but sing a song. But Pete isn't very careful about where he walks, and soon his white shoes have changed to red shoes, blue shoes and brown shoes. But it is "all good."
Review
I read Pete the Cat to my elementary students during their first week in the library and they can't wait to be able to check his books out themselves. They sang along with Pete's song and chuckled about him walking through all sorts of things that changed the color of his shoes. After reading Pete 14 times in one week, I found myself singing his little song as I looked for my shoes one morning. Pete is a hit - I will buy and share any books that join this series.
