A girl and her family adopt Lucy from the pound. When Lucy gets spooked by another dog barking, she starts howling. Nothing the family tries helps one bit. When the girl gives Lucy a stuffed critter to play with, Lucy finally settles down.
Review
An honest portrayal of the ups and downs of pet ownership. Cute illustrations. I felt frustrated right along with the family when Lucy wouldn't settle. I appreciated that the family kept trying different cures rather than giving up on Lucy too soon.
