MONDAY: The Empty Pot

This was one of the books I read as part of my mentoring relationship with In2Books. In this story, the Emperor of China is ready to choose his successor. Children around the country are given flower seeds. They have a year to do their best with the seeds and the Emperor will judge the results.

A boy named Ping is a fantastic gardener, but he can't get his seed to grow into anything. What will the emperor say?

This is a familiar story with a moral of being yourself and being honest and earning a great reward.
